Pop into the studio anytime and we will get you signed up to use our sunbeds. Our friendly team will answer any questions you may have and show you how our sunbeds work! For your first session, please bring a form of identification with you.

When starting sunbeds, we recommend starting off low and slow with your minutes. Our team will advise how many minutes we recommend for your skin type!

People with skin type 1; children under 18 and people on certain medications that may cause photosensitivity; people with a history of skin cancer in their family should not use a sunbed at all. 

Moderate tanning of 2-3 sessions a week is OK for everyone else but ensure you rest the skin for a minimum of 24 hours between each session and at least 48 hours for skin type 2. 

Eye protection must be used for the entirety of all tanning sessions. Closing your eyes does not protect your eyes from potential damage caused by UV rays. We offer eye protection for all our customers. 

YES! Using a tanning lotion will improve your tanning results by up to 60%. Tanning lotions provide the skin with powerful tanning boosters, hydration and also vital nutrients to enable the skin to tan. Dry skin reflects UV rays. without using a cream you can waste between 3-6 minutes of your tanning session reflecting the rays! 

We allow any professional tanning products. High street products or moisturisers are not allowed. Here is a non-exhaustive list of some products we do not allow in our studio. We reserve the right to refuse use of our sunbeds should these products be used. 

Carrot Oil, Shine Brown Gel, Shine Brown Oil, Shine Brown Spray, Fox Tan Products, 2BTanned Products, Nivea Products, Garnier Products, Baby Oil, Malibu Tanning Oil.

Get a spray tan! 

A sunbed tan must be built gradually over time. How long it takes to tan varies from person to person. This may take some people days, others weeks and others months. Be patient with your tan! The longer it takes to build the more long lasting it will be. Rushing your tan can lead to overexposure and skin damage. 

Always use a lotion. Using a lotion will speed up your tanning results by up to 60%!

There are two types of skin cancer – non-melanoma which can usually be easily treated. The second is malignant melanoma, which if not treated early enough can prove fatal.

Some evidence points to sunburn and over-exposure to UV being one of the possible risk factors in contracting skin cancer. It follows, therefore, that avoiding melanomas can be helped by controlling exposure to UV – particularly in children.

Malignant melanoma is found to be most prevalent on parts of the body not normally exposed to sunlight, suggesting that it is those areas that have to deal with intermittent, excessive doses of UV that are most vulnerable – or that UV over-exposure is not the only cause.

You must be 18 to use a tanning bed. At Neon Tanning Studios we operate a challenge 21 policy. If you look 21 or under you must show ID to join our tanning beds, 

You don't need to use SPF on the sunbed. Since your sunbed is controlled length of session (controlled dose, your risk of overexposure is reduced so SPF is not needed.
